The new Technology Council website is finally live and we want your feedback! Beginning with a more lightweight but powerful engine under the hood we added on a host of new features that we hope will make the site more user-friendly and relevant to you. Whether you are a business owner, an IT manager, an entrepreneur, a teacher, a government official, news reporter, parent, student or anyone in-between- we want our website to serve as a tool for connecting you with all that is happening in the regional technology community.
Some of our new features include:
A new layout and design – Our new design is brighter and more expansive overall, with improved text readability, tons of usability enhancements, a centralized navigation, more prominent social media integration through-out, easy sharing, and lots more. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
A more robust commenting system (used by TIME, CNN and others) – Now you can login with your Facebook, Twitter, Google,… I.D. (or just login with your email) to leave a comment. We want to hear more from you. To learn more about the rest of the powerful new features go to the DISQUS website.
A new focus on fresh, dynamic content – With our beefed up new in-site Blog we want to serve as the information hub for all things technology in the region- including the latest news on local businesses, STEM programs and classes, press releases, events, and much more. We want to be your source for local, regional and state technology news.
New Events Registration – In the past registering and paying for one of our events was not a seamless process; now that’s changed and we think it will make your life a whole lot easier. Stay tuned to see it in action.
Enhanced Member Directory – Each business profile in our Member Directory now has a live link to their website and for those who participate in our Member Spotlight there will be a link to their interview.
Outreach – We now have a page/section titled ‘Why Choose Region 2000?‘ which we hope to use as a means of introduction to businesses and organizations who may be considering relocating to the area.
Future Focus Foundation – Our STEM (“science, technology, engineering and math”) workforce development and youth program initiative, the Future Focus Foundation, now has a more prominent place on the site. We want all of you to get involved in our STEM programs, and to understand how they relate to the overall vision of the Tech Council.
Media and Press Room – We’ve made it easier to access all of our Blog content, press releases, newsletter archives, our video library and other future content. Our Media area and Press Room are easily accessible for reporters and anyone wanting to quickly go to where the latest news is or to just view our archives.
There is much more that we could tell you about but the most important reason for our new website is to serve you better. Take a look around and let us know what you think. Please give us your feedback in the comments below or contact us directly.
